Ye Nuns
Ye Nuns are a London group active since 2006. The line-up includes Bongo Debbie and Delia Sparrow, and the band forms as a seven-piece all-female act.
Style and repertoire
The group performs as a tribute to The Monks, the American GIs’ garage punk band associated with proto-krautrock and known for their shaved heads and nooses worn on stage. Ye Nuns’ sound centres on six-part harmonies, rough guitars, fuzzed bass, heavy drums, lead vocals, electric banjo and vintage keyboard textures.
