Yaaba Funk
Yaaba Funk is a Brixton, United Kingdom-based group active since 2006. The band plays a mix of funk, hi-life and afrobeat, drawing on Ghanaian and Nigerian sounds from the 1970s as well as funk, broken beat and jazz. Their influences include Alhaji K Frimpong, Fela Kuti and Oscar Sulley.
The group performs regularly on the London circuit and is noted for its Afro rhythm section and live shows. Their debut album, Afrobeast, is released in 2010.
