Yaaba Funk are a band playing funky Hi-Life and Afrobeat. influenced by Alhaji K Frimpong, Fela Kuti, Oscar Sulley, Ghanaian and Nigerian sounds from the 70s as well as funk, broken beat and jazz. Based in Brixton in south London, they play regularly on the London circuit and are know for electrifying shows featuring tight and powerful Afro rhythm section. Their debut LP Afrobeast was released in may 2010.
