Xero

Xero is a NWOBHM band from London, United Kingdom, active from 1976 until it ends. The band appears under the heavy metal and NWOBHM tags and is distinct from other acts with the same name.

Background

The band belongs to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene. It records live sessions for The Friday Rock Show on BBC, with Tommy Vance becoming a supporter of the group. One of those sessions includes Cuttin' Loose, which appears on The Friday Rock Show album in 1981. A different version of the same song also appears on the Metal For Muthas 2 compilation.

Recordings and releases

In 1983, the single Oh Baby enters the UK charts. The release Lone Wolf includes Bruce Dickinson on vocals, and appears on both a 12-inch format and a limited three-track 7-inch version. Despite the chart success of Oh Baby, the band does not release further new material and later fades from view.
