Wovenwar

Wovenwar is an American metal band from San Diego, United States, active since 2013. It forms around Jordan Mancino, Nick Hipa, Phil Sgrosso and Josh Gilbert, who all come from As I Lay Dying, and vocalist Shane Blay, who previously sings and plays lead guitar in Oh, Sleeper.

Formation and lineup

The group brings together Mancino on drums, Hipa on guitar, Sgrosso on guitar and Gilbert on bass and vocals, with Blay as frontman. The band’s line-up reflects a meeting of musicians from established metalcore acts, with all five members contributing to Wovenwar from its formation.

Recording and releases

Wovenwar records its early material with producer Bill Stevenson, known for work with Descendents and Black Flag. Mixing is handled by Colin Richardson, whose credits include Slipknot, Machine Head and Trivium. The band’s self-titled debut album is released in 2014 and attracts considerable acclaim.
