Worriedaboutsatan

Worriedaboutsatan is an electronic group from Bradford and Leeds, active since 2006. It is made up of Gavin Miller and Tom Ragsdale. The project begins as a solo outlet for Miller, who is a member of Johnny Poindexter at the time, before Ragsdale joins after hearing demos Miller makes at home in late 2005. The act is stylised as a single word in lower case.

Sound and formation

The first material develops from Miller’s home demos and sketches, which form the basis of the early release EP1. The group’s early sound combines post-rock and IDM, while later work draws more strongly on minimal techno.

Releases

The first official release by the duo is the single An Infinity Of Oncoming Lights, issued in late 2006. Its title comes from a line in Philip K. Dick’s novel A Scanner Darkly. In 2007, the group releases EP02, which includes reworkings of tracks from the first EP, along with new material and a collaboration with Leeds-based singer and songwriter Paul Marshall.

The debut album Arrivals follows in 2009. That same year, the group issues Arrivals Remixed, a two-disc remix album with contributions from artists including Her Name Is Calla, Golau Glau and Marco Zenker.

Other work

Worriedaboutsatan also records under the name Ghosting Season.

Line-up

The group consists of Gavin Miller and Tom Ragsdale, with Ragsdale leaving in 2019 to pursue a solo career.
