Wormfood

Wormfood is a French dark metal band whose sound combines death metal, doom metal and black metal with keyboard-led symphonic elements. The group is associated with avant-garde metal and progressive death metal, and it is often described as similar to Bethlehem in its dark metal approach.

Style and influences

The band’s music draws on extreme metal forms while adding symphonic keyboards. Its album France also incorporates folk and traditional French influences, expanding the group’s sound beyond its metal base.

Associated projects

Some members of Wormfood join the live line-up of Carnival In Coal from 2006 to September 2007. Emmanuel Lévy later forms The Lovotics with former Carnival in Coal member Axel Wursthorn. Former drummer Alexis Damien also founds Pin-Up Went Down.
