Wolfstone

Wolfstone is a Scottish group from Inverness, Scotland, formed in 1989 by fiddler Duncan Chisholm and guitarist and vocalist Stuart Eaglesham. The band plays Highland music mixed with rock and roll, and its repertoire includes original songs as well as traditional folk pieces.

The group splits in 1997 after difficulties with its record label, then reforms in 1998 to complete its recording contract and continues thereafter. It later records on its own label, Once Bitten Records, after parting ways with Green Linnet in 1999.

Wolfstone releases seven standard studio albums, with Terra Firma appearing in 2007, alongside two early recordings that the band does not count as part of its main studio catalogue. The group’s name comes from a wolf carving on a stone in a field near the place where it first records.

Members associated with the group include Struan Eaglesham, Duncan Chisholm, Stuart Eaglesham, Ivan Drever, Graeme "Mop" Youngson, Wayne MacKenzie, Stevie Saint, Andy Simmers, Alyn Cosker, Ross Hamilton and Colin Cunningham.
