Wobbler
Wobbler is a Norwegian progressive rock group formed in 1999. The band draws on early 1970s progressive rock, with a particular interest in the instruments and extended compositional style associated with that period, including Mellotron and Moog synthesizers. It forms in the Norwegian countryside near the waterfalls of Hønefoss.
Style and influences
The group plays symphonic prog and broader progressive rock. Its music is compared with classic acts such as Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Van der Graaf Generator, Mike Oldfield, Premiata Forneria Marconi and Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. It is also linked to Scandinavian progressive rock acts such as Änglagård and Anekdoten.
Releases
Wobbler releases demo tracks online before its debut album, Hinterland, which appears in 2005. The band then follows with Afterglow in 2009, Rites at Dawn in 2011 and From Silence to Somewhere in 2017. By 2018, it has released four albums.

The group includes Andreas Wettergreen Strømman Prestmo, Marius Halleland, Morten Andreas Eriksen, Lars Fredrik Frøislie, Kristian Karl Hultgren, Tony Johannessen and Martin Nordrum Kneppen.
Reception
Wobbler’s recordings receive strong notice in the progressive rock community, and From Silence to Somewhere is described as the highest-rated album of the 21st century on ProgArchives at the time noted in the input.
