With Confidence are an Australian pop punk band from Sydney, active from 2012 to 2022. The group forms around lead vocalist and bassist Jayden Seeley, backing vocalist and guitarist Inigo Del Carmen, and drummer Joshua Brozzesi. Their listed membership also includes Sam Haynes, Jayden Seenley and Luke Rockets.

Style and influences

The band is identified with alternative rock, pop punk and pop rock. They cite a range of influences, including The Dangerous Summer, Kings of Leon, Blink-182, The Wonder Years, The Strokes, The Dead Love and La Dispute. In another interview, they also mention Blink-182, All Time Low, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Dangerous Summer.

Recordings and label

Their second EP, Distance, is released in 2015 and is recorded at Electric Sun Studios with Stevie Knight and Dave Petrovic, who work with acts including Tonight Alive, Hands Like Houses and Northlane. In 2016 the band signs to Hopeless Records and releases the single and video “We’ll Be Okay”. They later release “Keeper” and announce their debut album, Better Weather.

Touring and career highlights

After the release of Better Weather, With Confidence tour in Australia, Japan, the UK and the US. They support The Wonder Years, ROAM and The Cautioners in Japan, then support As It Is and Jule Vera in the UK. They also appear on the Vans Warped Tour and later support Motion City Soundtrack and 5 Seconds of Summer. Better Weather reaches number 22 on the ARIA Charts.

Line-up changes and split

Luke Rockets leaves the band in 2017 after allegations of sexual misconduct involving an underage fan. The band announces its breakup in 2022 and plays its final show in Brisbane in November of that year.
