Witching Waves

Witching Waves are a London group active in the city’s DIY scene since 2013. The band is founded by Emma Wigham, who plays drums and shares lead vocals, and Mark Jasper, who plays guitar and also sings. Their line-up changes several times over the years, but they are joined by permanent bassist Estella Adeyeri, who is also a member of Big Joanie and Charmpit.

Style and activity

The group is associated with shoegaze, indie rock and post-punk, and is described as having a distinctive nouveau post-punk sound. They are known for frenetic live performances and a heavy touring schedule.

Releases

Persistence is their third album. It is the first Witching Waves album to appear on Specialist Subject Records, following two earlier albums released on Soft Power Records.
