Witches Mark

Witches Mark is an Austin heavy metal group formed in 2005. The project centres on Robb Bockman and draws on traditional heavy metal as well as speed metal, power metal, death metal, black metal and doom metal. Its material is rooted in the style of classic heavy metal and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.

Early releases

The group first appears on A Tribute To Angel Witch, a Unbroken Metal Records release, where it contributes a version of Angel Witch’s “Something Wrong”. It then issues its debut EP, A Grim Apparition, on Heaven and Hell Records in 2009. That release contains four original tracks and a cover of Candlemass’s “Solitude”.

Style and activity

Witches Mark presents itself through a dark, occult-themed image and a sound that combines multiple strands of extreme and traditional metal. The project is associated with plans for further recorded material, including Slaves To Your Own Sin.
