Winter Storm

Winter Storm is a gothic metal group from the United Kingdom, formed in 2008. The band comes from the West Midlands and is built around a female-fronted line-up, with a sound described as dark, heavy and atmospheric, while also emphasising a more melodic metal edge.

History

The band begins in 2008 with the aim of creating a female-fronted act with a distinct identity. In 2009, Winter Storm performs at the Femme Metal Festival weekend at the Asylum in Birmingham, appearing alongside Delain and Sirenia. The following year marks a busier period for the group, including a support slot for Delain at JB’s in Dudley on their UK tour and later appearances with To-Mera, Kells, Die So Fluid, Orestea and The Birthday Massacre at Birmingham’s O2 Academy.

Debut album

Winter Storm’s debut album, Serenity In Darkness, is released in 2010. It contains ten tracks and includes songs such as “The Embrace”, “Prison Cell” and “Internal Storm”, which are identified as fan favourites.

Line-up

The group consists of Hannah on vocals and lead guitars, Wayne on seven-string guitars, Dan on bass guitar, Jason on keyboards, and Rich on drums.
