William Singe

William Singe is an Australian singer and rapper from Auckland, Australia, born in 1992. He is best known as one-fifth of The Collective, the boy band formed during the fourth season of The X Factor Australia in 2012, where the group finishes in third place. Within the group, he serves as the rapper.

Before joining the show, Singe works as a bank teller at the Commonwealth Bank in Dee Why, New South Wales. He studies at St Augustine's College in Brookvale, New South Wales. He first auditions for The X Factor in season three, reaching the end of bootcamp before Guy Sebastian sends him home. In the fourth season, he auditions with Justin Bieber's One Less Lonely Girl and receives positive comments from the judges: Melanie Brown says he seems to be singing directly to her, Guy Sebastian describes the added rap as “crazy”, and Ronan Keating calls it a strong audition song.

Singe says his musical beginnings come through his father, a singer-songwriter from New Zealand who plays guitar and bass. He begins recording with him as a child and also performs gigs with him at In Situ, a restaurant and bar in Manly, New South Wales.
