William Michael Morgan is an American contemporary country singer and songwriter from Vicksburg, Mississippi. He signs with Warner Bros. Early life and musical background

Morgan begins performing in the ninth grade, when he puts together a band with older musicians who share his interest in classic country. The group plays honky-tonks at weekends while he works a series of odd jobs during the week, including roofing and cashier work at a Piggly Wiggly. He starts travelling to Nashville to write songs at 16 and moves there permanently at 18, where he continues building contacts and developing as a writer and performer.

Recording career

Through connections with managers Joe Carter and Mike Taliaferro and producer Jimmy Ritchey, Morgan signs a record deal with Warner Music Nashville and a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell at 19. He later emerges as a Warner Bros. Records newcomer with a voice praised for its clarity and range. His debut single, “I Met a Girl,” introduces him to country audiences as a romantic, old-school-leaning singer, and it is co-produced by Scott Hendricks and Jimmy Ritchey.
