Will Jeffery
Will Jeffery is a singer and songwriter from Glen Ellyn, United States, born in 1950. He describes his music as “beautifully shambolic”, and his style centres on gravelly vocals set against chugging folk rhythms. His songs vary in arrangement, moving from stripped-back performances with just voice and guitar to fuller band arrangements that include gypsy jazz influences.
He writes songs that are memorable and works across a range of sounds rather than repeating a single formula. His musical influences include Johnny Cash, as well as The Doors, The Zombies and Buddy Holly.
Recordings and backing band
Jeffery has played his own music for some time, and his profile grows around his first recordings issued through an independent label. These recordings appear as The Day Off EP. He also performs with his own backing group, the Montague Grizzly Quartet.
At the time described, he has management and independent-label support, and his releases are available through digital download services.
