Wildest Dreams

Wildest Dreams is a UK group name used by two separate acts. One is a project centred on DJ Harvey, who uses the name for a recording outfit described as a modern-day equivalent of the L.A. Wrecking Crew. In that context, Wildest Dreams functions as a way for Harvey to continue working as a multi-instrumentalist. The music draws on the landscape and atmosphere of Los Angeles, with a road-trip and acid-trip feel. A self-titled album is recorded over the course of a week and is issued by Smalltown Supersound.

The other Wildest Dreams is a London-based dream pop duo made up of Zoe Mead on vocals, samples and synths, and Holly Mullineaux on guitar. Although they work as a two-piece, they aim for a dense sound that combines ambient loops, samples, electronic drum beats and layered guitar parts. Their songs also emphasise rhythm and melody, with a darker edge and a direct pop sensibility. Their sound is compared with artists such as Warpaint and Still Corners.
