Whitechapel

Whitechapel are a US deathcore band from Knoxville, Tennessee, formed in 2006 by vocalist Phil Bozeman and guitarist Ben Savage. The group takes its name from the Whitechapel district in East London, which is associated with the Jack the Ripper murders.

Line-up

The band’s line-up includes Phil Bozeman on vocals, Ben Savage, Alex Wade and Zach Householder on guitars, Gabe Crisp on bass and Ben Harclerode on drums. The wider membership list also includes Brandon Zackey, Brandon Cagle and Kevin Lane. They are active on Metal Blade Records.

Recording history

Whitechapel release six studio albums and eleven music videos. Their 2010 album A New Era of Corruption debuts at No. 43 on the Billboard 200 and sells about 10,600 copies in the United States in its first week. Their self-titled fourth album, Whitechapel, reaches No. 47 on the Billboard 200 and sells roughly 9,200 copies in its first week. Their sixth album, Mark of the Blade, reaches No. 1 on the Hard Rock Albums chart and No. 3 on the Independent Albums chart, with first-week US sales of about 8,000 copies.

Later albums

In 2019 the band release The Valley, an album based on true events from Phil Bozeman’s childhood. In 2021 they release Kin, which follows The Valley thematically.
