White Lung

White Lung are a Canadian punk rock band from Vancouver, active from 2006 to 2022. Their sound spans punk, noise rock and post-punk, and they are associated with the Vancouver Emergency Room scene, where they first gain wider recognition.

Career

The band forms in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2006. The core members are Mish Barber-Way, Kenny McCorkell and Anne-Marie Vassiliou. Earlier line-ups include Kenneth William on guitars, Hether Fortune on bass, and former members Natasha Reich on guitars and Grady Mackintosh on bass.

Their first full-length album, It’s the Evil, is named punk album of the year by Exclaim! in 2010. In 2011, the band receives a nomination for Punk/Hardcore Artist/Group of the Year at the Canadian Music Week Indie Awards. Their second album, Sorry, is released in 2012 and draws critical attention from Spin, Pitchfork, Magnet, Exclaim! and Rolling Stone. Their third studio album, Deep Fantasy, follows in 2014. The band is later signed to Domino Recording Company.
