Whiskycats play a mixed style that combines English folk-influenced pop with brass-led funk. Their sound is described through a range of influences including Afrobeat, Dylanesque guitar, Klezmer, North of England vocals, swing, ska, funk, folk, jazz and cabaret. They are also characterised as a brass-heavy group with a metallic mariachi feel, and comparisons are drawn to Cherry Poppin’ Daddies and Gomez.
