Weave is the project of Barry Leake, an Australian IDM artist who uses a combination of computer-based production and live instruments. He releases an album and a 3-inch EP on Cactus Island Records, and also appears on the label’s Brittle Behaviour compilation LP.

Releases and compilation appearances

Weave has material on Cactus Island Records in the form of an album and a 3-inch EP. Leake also contributes a track to Brittle Behaviour, a compilation LP issued by the same label, and another track to Symbolic Interactions’ The Silence Was Warm compilation LP.

Collaborations

Leake works with other artists in addition to his solo project. Past collaborations include Tui, whose other projects include Orla Wren, Flung and Skin of the Tree, and Phillip White, who is associated with Helictite and occasional performances with Faust. He is also collaborating with Gina Berrett of 11x and Leigh Toro of Flotel.

Visual work

Alongside music, Leake also makes photography and artworks. He produces these through a photographic method that he describes as possibly unique, and prints are available through his Weave art outlet.
