We Cut Corners

We Cut Corners are an Irish duo based in Dublin. The group write short songs for drums and guitar, working with a stripped-back setup that centres on the interplay between the two instruments.

Their debut album, Today I Realised I Could Go Home Backwards, is nominated for the Choice Award for Best Irish Album of 2011. The record also receives strong reviews in the press, including four-star notices from The Irish Times and Hot Press. The Irish Times highlights songs such as “Three People”, “The Leopard” and “A Pirate’s Life”, while Hot Press describes the lyrics as strong and compares the duo’s writing to Belle & Sebastian at their most caustic. The Sunday Times names the album its Album of the Week, and The Irish Daily Star calls it Irish Album of the Year.
