Waze & Odyssey

Waze & Odyssey are a London-based house DJ and production duo from the United Kingdom. The group consists of Serge Santiágo and Firas Waez, and has been active since 2012. Their work sits in house, UK garage, garage, funky and disco-influenced territory.

Early releases and style

They emerge in early 2012 with their debut release, the Ah Baby (Here We Go Again) EP on Petfood Recordings. Their sound is described through references to MK, Todd Terry and Tony Humphries at Zanzibar Club, and it draws attention from tastemakers including Lazaro Casanova, Friendly Fires, Bicep and Danny Daze.

Remixes, radio support and label work

The duo build a catalogue that includes remix work for Trunkfunk and their version of No Artificial Colour's Detroit Baby What. They also release on Body Work, a record that earns a 9.5 out of 10 in DJ Mag's “Killer Tracks” feature. Their track I Can't Hear You (Dance), issued on vinyl only through Sccucci Manucci, receives play on BBC Radio 1 from Annie Mac and on Rinse FM. Feel My Voices also gets support from Skream & Benga on BBC Radio 1, as well as on Rinse FM.

Podcast and own imprint

Waze & Odyssey put together a Data Transmission podcast that becomes one of the most listened-to in the series, alongside mixes by acts such as Disclosure and Maxxi Soundsystem. In August 2012 they launch their own vinyl-only label, W&O Street Recordings, starting with Love That (Burns Hot Enough) / This Is How It's Gotta Be. Their label activity continues under W&O Street Tracks.
