Watershed

Watershed is a rock band from Columbus, United States, active from 1987 to the present. The group is associated with power pop and is based in Columbus, Ohio. Its sound is strongly influenced by The Kinks and Cheap Trick.

Line-up

The band’s current members are Colin Gawel, Rick Kinsinger, Joe Oestreich and Herb Schupp. In a later lineup, Colin Gawel plays guitar and sings, Joe Oestreich plays bass and sings, and Dave Masica plays drums. Joe Peppercorn also appears on guitar in that lineup, while Herb Schupp has also played drums in earlier versions of the group. Mark “Poochie” Borror is another former guitarist.

Style and identity

Watershed works within power pop and rock, with an acoustic and alternative side also associated with the name. The band’s Columbus base and its Kinks and Cheap Trick influences place it within a straightforward guitar-led American rock tradition.
