WALL

WALL is a name used by several different acts across punk, post-punk and heavy music, including a former moniker of London-based singer and producer Lyla Foy, a German doom metal band, a Japanese punk band, a New York post-punk and no-wave group, and a project by the twins Elliot and Ryan Cole.

Lyla Foy

As WALL, Lyla Foy releases the single Magazine through BCS Records and the EP Shoestring. She later drops the WALL name and performs under her own name.

German doom metal band

WALL is also a five-piece doom metal band from Cologne and Bonn, active since 2008. The group describes its sound as minimal pop songs played at maximum volume, with heavy low end and without an aggressive attitude. Its influences range from the Mamas and the Papas to early Swans. The band also changes equipment and approach frequently, and its releases appear on Bandcamp.

Other acts using the name

Another WALL is a Japanese punk band. There is also a New York-based post-punk and no-wave band with Vanessa Gomez on drums, Elizabeth Skadden on bass, Vince McClelland on guitars and Sam York on vocals. A further WALL project comes from Elliot and Ryan Cole, twins who also play in Desert Storm and The Grand Mal, and this version also appears on APF Records and Bandcamp.
