Waio is a psychedelic trance DJ and producer based in São Paulo, Brazil. He is Fernando Seca, who is described as half Brazilian and half Portuguese.

Background

He starts playing violin at the age of six, then discovers electronic music at thirteen. By seventeen, he is performing on the international psychedelic music scene. His work is associated with psytrance and full-on trance.

Music and releases

Waio develops a mature, experimental approach to psychedelic trance production and collaborates with leading artists in the genre. His releases include the EP Symbolika and the single How To Psytrance, both of which reach the top of the Beatport sales charts.

Live performance

He uses a custom live-performance system called WAIO CONTROL, built on the Reaktor platform, for his sets. It is designed to make each performance distinct and to support his live psychedelic style.
