Volkoder

Volkoder is the electronic music project of Marcos Benedetti, a producer and DJ from São Paulo, Brazil. He first begins releasing music under the alias after originally training with ambitions of becoming an architect, and he works mainly in house, deep house and tech-house.

Early releases and breakthrough

His first EP, Detroit, establishes his name and receives support from artists including Jamie Jones. The release is also played internationally by Lee Foss, Catz’n Dogz, Sandy Rivera, Patrick Topping and Tube & Berger. After this early success, he signs to Kittball Records in Germany.

Remixes and labels

Volkoder develops a profile as a remixer and works on tracks for Guy Gerber, Kerri Chandler, Dennis Ferrer and Tiger Stripes. In 2014 he signs with several labels, including Toolroom, Suara, Snatch! OFF, Material and Hot Creations, and he releases his first album that same year.

Recognition and performances

His tracks are played by Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, Luciano, Claude VonStroke and Nic Fanciulli. He has 15 tracks in the Beatport Top 100 in a single year, making him one of the year’s stronger sellers in dance music. He also performs at clubs and festivals in Brazil, including Warung Beach Club, Tomorrowland, D-Edge, Anzu Club, Tribaltech, XXXperience Festival and Kaballah Festival.

Awards

Volkoder receives the RMC Awards titles Best Newcomer DJ and Best Producer/Remixer in 2015.
