VOLA

VOLA is a Danish progressive metal band that also draws on djent, progressive rock, math metal and experimental elements. The group sits between heavy, complex passages and more melancholic, ambient material, combining distorted guitar, synthesiser lines, groove-led drums, vocal harmonies and layered electronic textures.

Line-up

The band consists of Asger Mygind on guitar and vocals, Martin Werner on keys and programming, Nicolai Mogensen on bass, synths and backing vocals, and Adam Janzi on drums.

Style

VOLA’s music blends dense metal rhythms with atmospheric and electronic details, moving between abrupt contrasts and more spacious, transparent sections. Their sound is defined by the interplay of pummelling distortion, synthesiser work, and layered vocals.
