VisionQuest
VisionQuest is a Detroit electronic music collective made up of Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtiss. The group works across house, techno, deep and tech house, and is associated with the Dumb-Unit tag.
Members and origins
The project brings together four DJ/producers from Detroit: Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtiss. They are presented as part of a newer generation of artists from the city’s scene, and both as a group and as individual performers they work regularly on club and festival circuits.
Recordings and labels
VisionQuest releases music on a range of labels, including Crosstown Rebels, Spectral Sound, Get Physical, Circus Company, Supplement Facts, Wolf+Lamb, Wagon Repair and Minus. One of their notable releases is a remix of Kiki’s “Good Voodoo” on BPitch Control, which becomes one of the summer’s underground hits in the year described in the bio.
Performances and residency
The group and its members perform in clubs internationally, including Fabric in London, Watergate in Berlin, Cityfox in Zurich, Tenax in Florence, Fiesta Privada in Rome, Cocoon in Frankfurt and Circoloco at DC10 in Ibiza. They also hold a weekly Soulshower residency at Club der Visionaere in Berlin.
Detroit events
VisionQuest also stages parties in Detroit. Their event at the Old Miami during the Detroit Electronic Music Festival brings together a range of artists from the scene and reflects their interest in collaboration and new talent.
