Video Nasties is a United Kingdom group associated with black ’n’ roll, black metal, death metal, heavy metal, metal and punk. The name is used by more than one act, but this entry refers to the English group formed in the middle of 2005.
Formation and early activity
The band starts as a five-piece. Its debut performance is attended by members of Les Incompetents, who are impressed enough to lead to a run of further shows. The group also releases a self-issued demo, which attracts the attention of Xfm DJ John Kennedy.
Style
Its music combines eighties post-punk with indie rock in the style of Medium 21, alongside a blackened hardcore and black ’n’ roll approach. The act is also tagged with post-punk, indie rock, black metal and indie.
