Vex Red are a rock band from Aldershot, United Kingdom. They form in 1995 and remain active, with a reunion in 2015 after an earlier break.

Style and early releases

The band combine hard rock with electronica and are also associated with alternative rock and industrial rock. They sign to Ross Robinson’s Virgin Records imprint I Am after sending him a demo EP. Their sound sits between rock and industrial influences, with the later tags also linking them to alternative and indie rock.

Career and lineup

The group’s line-up includes Terry Abbott, who is the singer. After the band parts company with the label in late 2002, Abbott forms Septembre. Some of the other members go on to form Scenes. Guitarists Ant Forbes and Nick Goulding both work as tour managers, while bassist Keith Lambert has a short spell playing with Martin Grech and later works in computers. Drummer Ben Calvert also plays with Killing Joke and Malpractice, the latter featuring Mark Chapman and Adam F, and later becomes the drummer for Calvin Harris.
