Veara

Veara is an easycore band from Augusta, Georgia, active from 2003 to the present. The group forms in December 2003 and is described as a pop punk four-piece, with its sound also associated with pop-punk, poppy hardcore and popcore.

Line-up

The band includes Brittany Harrell, Patrick Bambrick, Collin Colohan, Bryan Kerr, Ian Reese and Cory Rodgers. In the lineup described in the bio, Bradley Wyrosdick takes lead vocals, replacing Ian Reese, while Patrick Bambrick handles vocals and guitar, Bryan Kerr plays bass and vocals, and Brittany Harrell plays drums.

Releases and production

Veara self-releases a three-song EP and later records a full-length album with Rob Freeman of Hidden in Plain View on Wisteria Records. That album is released in September 2007. The band later issues What We Left Behind, which is co-produced by Jeremy McKinnon of A Day to Remember and Andrew Wade.

Recognition and live activity

Veara is named a finalist and regional winner in the Bamboozle Break Left contest through Absolutepunk.net. The band also appears on tour with A Day to Remember, August Burns Red, Silverstein, Enter Shikari and Go Radio, and performs with acts including The Maine, DangerRadio and Powerspace. It is also scheduled for a fall tour in 2010 with Rufio, Before Their Eyes and Close to Home.

Writing and themes

Brittany Harrell describes the material on What We Left Behind as coming out of a period of upheaval in the band, including doubt from others, member changes and dishonesty. Bradley Wyrosdick says the record is also intended for listeners who face similar criticism and want to pursue their own goals.
