Vardis

Vardis are a UK rock band from the North of England who form in 1973 and become fully professional in 1978. They take part in the British heavy metal scene and are associated with NWOBHM, hard rock, heavy metal, blues rock, metal and rock.

The band’s line-up includes Steve Zodiac on guitar and lead vocals, Terry Horbury on bass guitar, and Joe Clancy on drums. Their later listed members are Roly Bailey, Joe Clancy, Gary Pearson and Alan Selway.

Vardis build a reputation through live performances and through a sound that combines elements of 1970s glam, punk and blues with heavy metal rock’n’roll. Steve Zodiac leaves the music business in 1986 and later returns when Vardis reunite for selected shows.
