VanJess

VanJess is a Nigerian American R&B group from Lagos, made up of sisters Vanessa Nwokike and AMAKA. Active from 2009 to 2022, the duo works across alternative R&B, contemporary R&B and R&B, with additional links to soul, electronic and pop.

Career

The pair develops a profile through social media and builds a large online audience, with more than 40 million video views on YouTube. They appear on VH1’s The Linda Perry Project and use their platform to support campaigns and events, including the “Louder than Words” campaign in 2012 and the “Lights Camera Cure” dance-a-thon in 2013.

Releases

Their debut EP, 00 till Escape, is re-released and reaches the iTunes top ten, while also trending worldwide. The group also works on a new EP.
