Vancouver Sleep Clinic

Vancouver Sleep Clinic is the solo project of Timothy Bettinson, an Australian ambient and electronic singer-songwriter. The project is based in Australia and is associated with ambient and indie-pop, with Bettinson the only member.

Background

Bettinson grows up in Brisbane and begins making music after listening to his father’s records by Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles, then discovering artists such as Bon Iver and Sigur Rós as a teenager. He starts writing his own songs and records them using a keyboard and computer.

Early releases and live activity

In 2013, he uploads the song “Vapour” online, where it attracts significant attention and gathers thousands of plays. A subsequent EP titled Winter also receives considerable notice. By 2014, he is performing live, including an appearance at the SXSW festival in Austin.

Album

In 2016, Vancouver Sleep Clinic releases its debut full-length album, Revival, on Sony.
