Vallenfyre

Vallenfyre is a British death metal and doom metal group from West Yorkshire, active from 2010 to 2018. The project is formed by Gregor Mackintosh of Paradise Lost, working with musicians connected to At the Gates and My Dying Bride. Its line-up includes Mackintosh, Hamish Glencross, Mully, Scoot, Adrian Erlandsson, Sam Kelly-Wallace, Waltteri Väyrynen and Chris Casket.

Style and releases

The group’s music combines death metal and doom metal, and it also sits within old school death metal. Its early release is the single “Desecration”, issued by Imperium Productions in 2011 as a seven-inch vinyl limited to 500 copies. The debut album, A Fragile King, is released by Century Media Records in 2011. The second album, Splinters, follows in 2014, and the third album, Fear Those Who Fear Him, appears in 2017.

At one point, the line-up includes Gregor Mackintosh on vocals and lead guitar, Hamish Glencross on rhythm and lead guitar, Mully on rhythm guitar, Scoot on bass, and Adrian Erlandsson on drums. The broader membership also includes Sam Kelly-Wallace, Waltteri Väyrynen and Chris Casket.
