UTE

UTE is a German musician, Fröhlicher Griessbrei. The project works within a trio format and focuses on combining a broadened band structure with folk-based songwriting and narrative lyrics, drawing on stories that range from traditional forms to newer material.

UTE builds a live reputation through performances with Supergrass, Fanfarlo, Jeremy Warmsley, Jonquil, Maps & Atlases, The Xcerts, This Town Needs Guns, Mimas, Broadcast 2000 and The Great Eskimo Hoax. The act also appears on the main stage at Truck Festival, The Secret Garden Party and Antic Banquet.

Broadcast support includes airtime from Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 1 and Dandelion Radio, plus a session for BBC Oxford Introducing. The first release, Float, Not Fight. This Is the Way!, is recorded over five days in the summer of 2008 and launches in early 2009 at a sold-out Brixton Windmill.
