Urfaust

Urfaust is a Dutch black metal group from Asten in the Netherlands, active from 2003 to 2023. The band works in atmospheric black metal, black metal, dark ambient and doom metal, and its music also uses clean vocals and dark ambient elements, particularly on its full-length releases.

Releases

The group releases three full-length albums: Geist ist Teufel, Verräterischer, Nichtswürdiger Geist and Der freiwillige Bettler. It also issues a number of shorter and collaborative releases, including the split Auerauge Raa Verduistering with Circle of Ouroboros from Finland, a self-titled split with The Ruins of Beverast, the EP Drei Rituale Jenseits des Kosmos, the split 7-inch with Joyless, and the mini-album Einsiedler.

Compilation

In 2012 the band releases Ritual Music for the True Clochard, a compilation that gathers all of the songs from its split releases together with the non-ambient tracks from Verräterischer, Nichtswürdiger Geist in remastered form.

Labels

Drei Rituale Jenseits des Kosmos is released on Debemur Morti Productions in 2008, while the split 7-inch with Joyless and Einsiedler are released in 2009 by Ván Records in Germany.
