Unicorn Kid

Unicorn Kid is the electronic music project of Oliver Sabin, a musician and composer from Leith, United Kingdom, who is born in 1991. The project is active from 2007 to 2014 and works across chiptune, seapunk, electronic, electronica and electro.

Releases

Unicorn Kid releases its first EP, Lion Hat, in January 2009 on Sabin’s own Euphonios Records. The release draws positive reviews and mainstream radio play. In April 2010, the single Dream Catcher appears as a free download, and Sabin later signs to Ministry of Sound, where he also releases the single Wild Life.

In August 2011, he self-releases the Tidal Rave EP. He tours Europe with the EP as support for Owl City. In 2012, he releases the singles Pure Space, Need U and Feel So Real. His debut album, Brain Wash, follows in 2014.

Later work

After ending Unicorn Kid, Sabin releases music under the name Plush. On 7 September 2017, he issues the DJ set birth of plush, which includes an original composition. On 24 October 2022, Doss releases Look (All Night Mix) with production credits that feature Plush.

End of the project

Sabin later says he ends Unicorn Kid after being released from a contract with 3Beat, explaining that he no longer wants to continue the project under that direction and intends to return later under a new project name.
