Underground Empire is a 3 piece indie rock/shoegaze/post rock band from Chicago, consisting of Soren Ramsey, (Guitar, Vocals), David Bechdolt, (Bass) and Kevin Dolan (Drums). Formed in the suburbs of Chicago, the band's eclectic sound comes from the markedly different musical tastes of the three members, with elements of blues, funk and punk in the mix. The band cites influences ranging from Wilco, Cake and SIlversun Pickups to Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller and The Who. The current iteration of the band was formed in 2009, and their self-titled debut was released independently in 2013.
