Typhon

Typhon is a Colombian black metal group originally formed in 1994. The line-up includes Alexander “Barzuth” Arroyave and Mauricio “Bull Metal” Montoya. The band releases a demo in 1993 with the tracks “Magnificent Ritual Killer” and “The Roman God”, then issues one full-length album, Unholy Trilogy. It also exists as a four-piece.

History and activity

Typhon forms one of the first Satan’s private cults, called Los Lobos, in Medellin. The group is also associated with arrests linked to irregularities at concerts that Colombian police do not permit. A split tape limited to 400 copies appears with the old thrash metal band Blasfemia on Mala Fide Records; this is an unofficial re-release of Unholy Trilogy and Blasfemia’s EP Guerra Total.
