Tyga

Tyga is the stage name of Micheal Ray Stevenson, a hip hop artist from Compton, California. He is of Vietnamese and Jamaican descent. His work is associated with hip hop, pop rap, ratchet music, trap and West Coast hip hop. He is signed to Young Money, and is also linked with Last Kings Entertainment and Last Kings Records.

Career

Tyga begins releasing music in 2006 with his first mixtape, Young on Probation. He follows it with his debut studio album, No Introduction, in 2008. He continues to issue mixtapes, including Well Done 3. His single “Taste” becomes his best-charting song.

Background and connections

Tyga is the cousin of Travis McCoy, the lead vocalist of Gym Class Heroes. He is an American hip hop artist associated with Lil Wayne’s Young Money imprint.
