Two Tales Of Woe are a Dublin, Ireland-based group formed in 2005 from an idea Carl King had been developing since 2001. King works with Lar Bowler on shaping the project’s direction and sound, and the band later settles into a line-up with Ross Duffy, Chris De Brabandere and Johnny Kerr joining in late 2007.

The group establish themselves in the Irish metal scene as a hard-working live act. Their style is associated with sludge metal, doom metal, stoner metal, Southern metal and sloom, and they describe their approach as heavy and slow.

Debut album

Writing and rehearsing for the debut album A Conversation with Death begin in 2008. Recording starts in August of that year, and the album is completed by January 2009. It is self-produced and recorded by the band.

Line-up

At one point the band searches for a full-time drummer, as Johnny Kerr can no longer commit the time to the group because of his own commitments, while the project continues without stopping.
