Twisted Nerve

Twisted Nerve is a gothic rock group from Edinburgh, Scotland, active since 1978. The band begins as The Insults and initially plays full-on punk before developing into a darker sound associated with goth punk, post-punk, deathrock and batcave influences.

Early history

The first recordings associated with Twisted Nerve appear on the Mint Sauces For The Masses compilation 7-inch on the local label Playlist. The group then releases two more 7-inches, Caught In Session and Five Minutes Of Fame, which document the move from punk towards a more shadowed style.

Recordings and releases

After further line-up changes, Twisted Nerve issues the Eyes You Can Drown In 12-inch on Criminal Damage, followed by the Séance mini-album, which the band releases itself. These records are described as being difficult to find.
