Twinkle Brothers

Twinkle Brothers are a Jamaican reggae and dub group active since 1962. The group includes Norman Grant, Aron Shamash, Black Steel, Demondo, Dub Judah, Ralston Grant and Jerry Lyons, and is associated with the roots reggae tradition.

The group begins with Norman and Ralston Grant, who come from Falmouth on Jamaica’s north coast, in the parish of Trelawny. They are known as a harmony group from the era of reggae vocal ensembles.

Style and themes

Their music centres on praise of Rastafari, social observation and themes of everyday struggle, with a strong roots backing sound. Their work combines vocal harmony with a heavy live rhythm section.
