Twin Temple is a Los Angeles-based doo-wop and rock and roll group active since 2016. The act centres on Alexandra and Zachary James, who present themselves as the band’s “high priests” and perform under a Satanic concept.

Formation and identity

The group begins in 2016, when Alexandra and Zachary James start the project on Halloween after a destruction ritual. They frame the formation as a deliberate break from their earlier identities, and the Twin Temple persona becomes the basis for their music and performance.

The band’s approach combines Satanic imagery with music drawn from older American popular styles. Rather than using heavy metal arrangements, Twin Temple works with classic rock and roll and doo-wop influences, with Alexandra’s vocals described in the source material as resembling 1960s crooning. The act is rooted in the City of Angels, another name for Los Angeles.

Music and themes
