Turrentine Jones

Turrentine Jones are a Manchester rock and roll trio formed in 2010. The group consists of Julian Neville on guitar and vocals, Thomas Scotson on organ, and Rich Watts on drums, and it remains active.

Sound and influences

Their music combines the straightforward song structures of 1950s and 1960s rock with guitar, electric Hammond organ, driving rhythms and dark lyrical themes. They are often compared with The Animals and The Doors because of Neville’s forceful vocals and the organ sound, and The Velvet Underground is also named among their influences.

Releases and activity

The band builds an underground following through singles, brand endorsements and licensing its music for television. Its third single, Show Me Mercy, appears through Lab Records. A later release includes the track Della May.
