Turntable Dubbers

Turntable Dubbers are a Belgian DJ duo made up of Timaxx and Drezz. They work with four hands on two decks and specialise in a blended style that brings together dub, roots, reggae, breax, jungle, ragga, afro, Balkan and Latin rhythms, along with other funk-oriented elements.

Style and approach

Their sets draw on the history of dance music and world music, with particular attention to the connections between the two. They often move between underground sounds and more accessible crowd-pleasing selections, and their performances are shaped around live atmosphere and rhythm-heavy transitions. Their music is described as uptempo and rooted in party-oriented club culture.

Collaborations and live work

They perform with a range of guest MCs and musicians, including saxophonist Funky Frenic, MC Six of Skeemz/Galaxie Gangbang Soundsystem, MC Junior Fragga of Uphill Sound, and P-Bone on percussion. These collaborations add live instrumentation and vocal elements to their stage sets.

Recognition and associations

Turntable Dubbers are noted as having been regarded positively by artists and selectors including the Freestylers, Daddy G of Massive Attack, Max Sedgley, Discobar Galaxie, Arsenal and Krafty Kuts. Their work also extends into original tracks and releases of their own.
