Turbostaat

Turbostaat is a punk and punk rock group from Flensburg, Germany. It forms in 1999 and is active from that point onward. The band includes Peter Carstens, Marten Ebsen, Tobert Knopp, Rotze Santos and Jan Windmeier.

Background

The group brings together members with previous links to Zack Ahoi, Unabomber and Exil. After moving to Flensburg, it begins releasing records through Schiffen and Rookie Records.

Releases and related work

Turbostaat's first album, Flamingo, appears in 2001, followed by Schwan in 2003. In 2006 the band releases the single Haubentaucherwelpen/Pingpongpunk 7", also referred to as 7". Its fourth studio album, Das Island Manøver, appears in 2010.

Side project

In 2006, guitarist Marten Ebsen forms the band NinaMarie with Thomas Götz of the Beatsteaks.
