Tulisa

Tulisa, born Tula Paulinea Contostavlos in Camden, United Kingdom, is a British singer-songwriter and actress. She is of Greek Cypriot and Irish descent.

N-Dubz

She is best known as a member of N-Dubz, the Camden-based hip hop group she forms with her cousin Dappy and their friend Fazer. The group starts in 2000 and releases three studio albums before announcing a hiatus in 2011. Tulisa later states that the group has split rather than merely taken a break. Her membership is one of her main associations.

Solo work and television

Tulisa releases her debut solo album, The Female Boss, in 2012. Her debut solo single, Young, is produced by STL, a production duo founded by Richard Rawson. The track premieres on Chris Moyles’s BBC Radio 1 show and is released through Island Records and All Around The World. In 2011 and 2012, she appears as a judge on The X Factor, where she mentors the Groups category in her first year. That year includes Little Mix, the first group to win the competition.

Other public profile

Outside music and television, Tulisa is reported to have turned down a nude modelling offer in 2009 on moral grounds, and she is listed at number 15 in FHM’s “100 Sexiest Women in the World” in May 2010. She also has an on-off relationship with DJ Adam Bailey, to whom she is reported to be engaged in early 2009, before ending the relationship after accusations against him.
