Tsuyoshi Suzuki

Tsuyoshi Suzuki is a Japanese DJ, producer and musician associated with Goa trance and psytrance. Born in Tokyo, he moves between Tokyo and London and works internationally as a DJ and performer. He begins playing drum kit at the age of 12 and later forms a number of bands, with his work shaped by electronic music.

Early life and move to London

After studying film and media at university in Tokyo, Suzuki travels to India and Africa and becomes involved in the techno trance scene. He moves to London in 1993 and becomes a prominent DJ at Return to the Source.

Labels and projects

In 1994, Suzuki founds Matsuri Productions and later also records on Feedback Recordings. He is associated with a number of Goa trance projects, including Bass Chakra, Joujouka, Kailash, Prana and Taiyo. His wider project list also includes Mumble, Omputer, Anti Matter, Blissed and Slug.

DJ career and events

Suzuki develops a reputation for seamless mixing and for playing trance and techno-influenced sets. He performs at major electronic music events including the Berlin Love Parade, The Sydney Mardi-gras, Fuji Rock Festival, Tribal Gathering, Fenix Festival, Rainbow 2000 and Earthcore. He is also closely associated with Earthcore as a regular favourite.
